Norman Warne (1868-1905) with nephew Fred. Norman joined his father's publishing firm 'Frederick Warne & Co.'. In 1902, the company published Beatrix Potter's 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' to great success. Norman became Potter's editor and they worked closely together on several subsequent books and spinoffs. In 1905 Warne proposed. Potter accepted, but a month later he died suddenly of leukemia. The relationship between Potter and Warne became the basis of the 2006 film 'Miss Potter'.
